Sony Ericsson, India's up-and-coming telco is all set to make its first move into the higher end smartphone segment with Sony Xperia U smartphone. It will be priced around 19K making it the most cost effective handset ever. Sony Xperia U runs on android 2.3 Ice Cream Sandwich OS smartphone and powered by 1GHz Dual Core Processor, 5.0 MP Rear Camera with Auto Focus and 0.3 MP Front Camera for video recording.

In addition to the key features, the Sony Xperia U supports MP3, eAAC+, WMA and WAV formats with Sony 3D surround sound audio technology. The video player supports MP4, H.263, H.264 and WMV formats. The integrated stereo FM radio allows users to tune into their favorite radio stations. That is not all; the Sony Xperia U helps users to stay connected with a host of connectivity features like Bluetooth v2.1 with A2DP, GPRS/EDGE, HTML5 WAB Browser, 3G HSDPA and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n platforms.
